Meet The Jones Girls

February 7, 2016

Meet the Jones Girls. A hand made Kiwi leather goods label which is young but incredibly cool. With a high regard for quality these sisters design for the modern girl who wants the best of both worlds with The Jones Girls take on these classic bags. Check out the Poppy Bucket bag and the Georgie Petite in Forest Green, love.
I was lucky enough to chat to Ruby Jones about the brand and what inspires them.

To Flare or not to flare

June 14, 2015

To flare or not to flare, and then there is the option for the cropped flare too just to make it more confusing. If you are like me and have a strong penchant for the 70’s aesthetic you will appreciate these picks. Brands like Ellery, Georgia Alice and Karen Walker have pushed the meaning of the flare to modern days with interesting fabrications, patterns and more of a subtle kick or rather exagerated, seemingly more structure to the 70’s counterparts so fear not looking like you have dressed for a themed party, rather looking strongly in 2015.

Cool girl spirit

June 1, 2015

Tornn edit

So many cool girl pieces in this edit. Inspired by raw hem lines, rips and all things shiny. With a bit of G.A, Stella, Zoe and Kym by your side. This one is for the girls by the girls.

Lonely girls project

May 27, 2015

The Lonely girls project by Lonely Hearts is as beautiful as it is real. I have always admired Lonely Hearts and its ability to go against the grain, producing beautiful pieces for real woman. Sticking to what they know (no padding or g-strings) and never giving in to trends.

Deadly Ponies

April 10, 2015

It is incredible what talent lays within New Zealand and its people. Deadly Ponies is not a new brand, having been around for some time, but it is one which has established its self in a modern market of luxury. With a quality matched by the likes of Louis Vuitton, yet still edgy and young.
Their latest Winter 2015 range, Pompernickel, is inspired by 18th century France – can you tell? Always one to play with a bit of quirk… With burgundy hues and pastel pinks and that never ending leopard obsession (not complaining, I love it) set against the 18th century backdrop and macaroons piled atop. It is good to live a life less serious and Deadly Ponies nails it, I admit, with some seriously good looking leather.
